Adult Lessons   

Adult Beginner/Intermediate Lessons

The Adult Lessons program is intended for beginner skiers through to intermediates who wish to improve their technique in a non-threatening group environment.  The program is open to members and non-menbers.  Adult lessons will be held on Saturdays starting at noon .   Interested skiers should contact Jonas Tucker at 320 4820 or jonastucker@hotmail.com or the snow phone at 372 5514, please book lessons 2 days in advance.   Depending on numbers and student’s needs, groups will be organized to cover the following topics:

 

Equipment Selection:

• Fundamentals of equipment selection including boots, poles and skis will be the focus. It will address the continuum of skiers from novice to elite.

Ski preparation and Waxing: 

• The session will explore the fundamentals of ski preparation, the basic equipment for a good “wax box” and instruction on basic waxing will also be reviewed.

Technique: 

• Participants can choose between classic and skating technique lessons.  The areas covered will include the techniques involved in skating such as off-set, one-skate and two skate and classic skiing including diagonal stride, double pole and kick double pole.  Skiers will have an opportunity to examine their own technique.

The program cost is $50 for 3 sessions. Single lessons are $20. Non-members will also need a day pass.

 

  ************There will also be wednesday adult lessons by appointment FOR MEMBERS OR NON-MEMBERS. Price will be 20$ per 1 hour session. Note: non-members must sign a waiver, and pay trail fee if they don't have a pass.  One can sign up by phone or email, and there will be a sign-up sheet in the day lodge. *********
